Hip Hop TV: Eve and Road to Stardom
Eve finds her second season of Eve a much more positive experience, partly because she’s learned to work a real schedule rather than do the much easier role of the diva (not that I know how she actually behaves on set). But I think the following statement is pretty revealing:
“She found the five-day work week very different from making music in a recording studio where she could “set my own schedules and be able to be late, as late as I want.”"
I guess she just can’t afford those big tv budgets cause, when she’s late to the recording studio, she’s paying for it.
Now that The Road to Stardom, a reality tv contest featuring singers and rappers and Missy Elliott, has premiered, isn’t it time that people stopped referring to the contestants as “singers” or, even, “hip-hop-influenced singers?” I admit I haven’t seen it though. Are they all really singing, or what?
