ProHipHop

Personal Confession

I’ve dropped the ball this week and let other commitments interfere with my work here at ProHipHop. Although on my off weeks I still post more than most bloggers, I’m trying to create the foundation for a real business and half-assed execution will undermine my goals quicker than I’d like to accept. But I am clarifying my limits and that’s a good sign for the future of ProHipHop, as well as for my own sanity. I’d like to say that I’ll do a big catchup session this weekend but fortunate news makes that unlikely.

Monday is the deadline for my first ProHipHop related column for Pound, a bimonthly hip hop publication out of Toronto. If all goes well, I’ll be announcing its appearance in a few weeks. I’m excited about writing for a print publication again and it’s giving me a lot of great ideas already. Nevertheless, ProHipHop remains the baseline and I will continue to strive to maintain the standards shown in my best weeks.

I do want you to know that, though this week has been difficult, it’s leading me to positive places and relationships that I think will result in all sorts of exciting and unexpected outcomes. I used to think it was corny when people talked about their experiences in creating a business as a form of personal growth, but I’m getting schooled and pushed to excel on a daily basis and I’m loving it, especially when I still have time for a nap!

So feel free to send supportive email or shoutout on your website or blog. It will mean more to me than you might imagine.

Till soon,
Clyde
