The Honeymooners opened this weekend doing $5.8 mil at the box office. The film is based on the television show from the 1950s starring Jackie Gleason but it’s cast with black people! According to A.O. Scott of the NY Times, it’s an ok film. NPR interviewed Cedric the Entertainer who takes Jackie Gleason’s role as Ralph Kramden.

A documentary about hip hop in Kenya, Hip-Hop Colony, was part of this weekend’s 7th Annual San Francisco Black Film Festival. Eric K. Arnold discusses the film and Wanda Sabir speaks with one of the directors.
