Two weeks ago I tried a more in-depth approach to looking at the sales charts. Last week I didn’t do that due to various conflicts and I may not do so in the future because I’m not sure it’s a real draw for folks. Let me know if I’m wrong about that.
In last week’s album charts, the Black Eyed Peas’ Monkey Business entered at no. 2 selling 291,000 copies. With 50 Cent’s The Massacre at no. 11 and Common’s Be at no. 14, Monkey Business was the only hip hop album in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
In last week’s singles charts, the Black Eyed Peas’ Don’t Phunk With My Heart is no. 1 on the Hot Digital Songs chart, no. 2 on the Pop 100 and no. 5 on the Hot 100. 50 Cent’s Just a Lil Bit is at no. 1 on the Hot Rap Tracks charts, no. 3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Tracks and no. 4 on the Hot 100.
Just a Lil Bit also holds the no. 2 spot on the Hot Ringtones chart with the Ying Yang Twins at no. 1 with Wait (The Whisper Song).
