Jay-Z’s Exec Tale Becoming Mundane

Rolling Stone has a pleasant enough profile of Jay-Z the executive that may be a shorter version of a piece for the print publication. That would be good since it otherwise seems like a somewhat updated variation on previous profiles and commentary from the NY Times and from Fortune magazine and Oliver Wang.

I’ll try to check out the print version and follow up. It’s a shame to see a great story already growing stale.

Update: As it turns out, the piece available online is an excerpt from a much longer piece about Jay-Z that looks pretty interesting. It’s also part of a special December issue of Rolling Stone focused on hip hop, including a piece on issues surrounding the death of Biggie Smalls, Chris Rock’s top 25 hip hop cds and some more entertaining material.
