Podcast Hotel, Podbop, PodShowPDN, Podcasting News

The Podcast Hotel bills itself as an "Unconference About Independent Culture, Podcasting and Digital Music" and is getting under way today.  However, not to worry.  The official site states that:
the plan is to take the Podcast Hotel on a world tour and to continue working with musicians, artists and people who want to learn more about grass roots media.  Our goal is to create a worldwide grass roots movement, helping people discover new ways to reach out to a world beyond their local community.

Of course, what they’re describing is already in motion but I’m sure we’ll all be happy if they contribute to that movement.

TechCrunch describes a new service called Podbop that combines concert information with artist downloads or, as the Podbop site currently states:
We podcast bands coming to your town

If you’re a rising podcast star, the kind that would be found on the Growing List of Every Hip Hop Podcast on the Web, then you might also be interested in news of the PodShow Podcast Delivery Network, the "First High Performance Delivery Network for Podcasting."  However, there’s no url given for the service and I’ve noticed that at PodShow there’s no info about it or about joining the PodShow network.  Guess you’ll just have to contact them directly and ask.

By the way, if you’re really into podcasting news, you’ve come to the wrong place.  I’d suggest Podcasting News to keep up with the rapid pace of development of podcasting.

  1. Thanks for the mention about the Podcast Hotel — we have a few hip hop bands that are going to play. We’ll publish the recordings as podcasts after the event.
And, you’re right, we’re just contributing to the movement. :-) . That’s all we strive to do.

That’s cool. If you spend a lot of time around activists you’ll here a lot about starting movements which isn’t really how that works.
But it sounds like you’ve got a cool thing happening and it will be interesting to hear more in the future.
