Gordon Parks Passes On

Photographer and filmmaker Gordon Parks died today at the age of 93.  I usually think of him as a photographer but he wrote and also directed both The Learning Tree and Shaft.  Really, one of the giants of his time.

"Nothing came easy," Parks wrote in his autobiography. "I was just born with a need to explore every tool shop of my mind, and with long searching and hard work. I became devoted to my restlessness."
