Rollyo Hip Hop & Music Industry News Search

It’s weird.  I thought I already posted on ProHipHop’s contribution to the Rollyo roll your own seach engine movement, but apparently I haven’t.  It’s a bad sign, if I’m starting to dream about individual posts!

Whatever happened, I’ve created a Music Industry News Search option at Rollyo.  I’d been thinking about this for awhile, actually via a similar product from another search engine, but Rollyo’s popularity and Hashim Warren’s example spurred me into action.  Hashim’s offerings include a search focused on Hip Hop Bloggers and one on Mixtapes.

In addition to the direct link, you can access the search via a Rollyo search box above the Music Industry links in the right hand column.  The search relies on a handpicked group from the list.  One problem with Rollyo is that when picking domains you can’t use subdomains.  The Rollyo search will search netweed.com if I designate netweed.com/hiphoppress.

So, I would have included certain great sites but they’re housed on subdomains so it’s not quite what it could be.  However, maybe this experience will inspire me to pursue other options.  I’ll let you know.
