Dreddy Kruger on the Music Industry, Wu-Tang Clan, Little Brother

Henry Adaso recently took over duties at About.com's Rap section and he's got a great interview with Think Differently Music's Dreddy Kruger that's well worth the read for Dreddy's take on the music industry, A&R's, the Wu-Tang Clan and even Little Brother.

There's so much on there worth quoting that I won't even bother.  Just go read it if you want to hear some real talk about the music industry and about the Wu.

Note that part way through Dreddy gives Henry props for his knowledge as revealed in his questions.  It's always a positive sign when your interviewee is surprised by your questions in a good way.  Henry also writes The Rap Up.

Official site: Think Differently Music

Note: I generally hate About.com.  They get some good people on there but any site that frames other people's sites when you go to outgoing links (among other failings) is just incredibly lame at this point in time.

go Henry! I don't even know him, but I've been reading his blog for a while now, and I'm happy that he got the gig at About.com

Damn, I want Dreddy Kreuger to manage me! What's interesting is that he paints Ghostface as a moving entity outside of Wu-Tang when every Ghostface interview I've read paints RZA and the Clan as not moving with him, so he's out on his own, doing only 2-3 joints with them. I liked the Think Differently CD, but alot of it was subpar including the mixing and mastering. It's cool to keep it gutter and basement, but some of the tracks are unlistenable due to distortion and bad mixes. I applaud Dreddy for actually catering to die hard Wu and indie hip hop fans--why did that project take so long to come about? All of the Wu, Ghost and Meth included, should be independent. They'd sell 200,000 CD's everytime out and make a killing. Why sell 300,000 on Def Jam and be broke? I really can't wait to hear Raekwon's album now if it supposedly shits on "Fishscale!"

I haven't heard the cd but I loved the concept. I think Dreddy's comments on Ghostface are a reminder that people often see the same situation differently.

I tell you, it's hard for me to imagine someone working with Wu-Tang members and dropping an interview like this without it stirring up additional beef, even if that's not the purpose of the comments. And I hate to see these guys beefing with each other.

I'm a couple of days late commenting on the Dreddy Krueger article;(You heard the cliche, a day late and a dolla short.the story of my life)...But I thought that was a good interview conducted by Henry.....provided a lot of insight on what's going down with the Wu family..One of the top groups in the HIP-HOP genre..As far as the little...* friction*..all *families*.. go through that...at the end of the day they'll come together..As far as the sound quality of the Think Differently CD..I like that hssss , distortion, and other white noise....thats part of the WU SOUND..the pre-pro-tools sound.....
