I was checking out the press release announcing the launch of the Starbury Collection and started wondering if the low price point would bring out the haters. So I checked the initial comments at Nah Right and was pleasantly surprised to find that even the jokes had a positive edge.

Obviously you can’t take one blog’s comments section as a stand-in for the populace at large but these comments made me very happy, not for Starbury, but for those broke ass kids who may finally get a cool cheap pair of sneakers without having assholes give them a hard time for being poor. Not that they won’t but you know what I mean.

I’ll be so mad if Stephon Marbury ends up with shoes that simply look like Starbury’s while short changing kids. Let’s hope he really is keeping it real and that he’s also got somebody smart keeping an eye on the shoemakers.

What’s funny is no one hear realizes that the same amount of money it cost to make Air Jordans you can make Starbury’s. The only diference is he charges less. If your worried about what people think about your shoes while your playing ball you shouldn’t be playing. Your not going to play any better in a $100 sneaaker than a $15 sneaker. I bought a pair today and I think they are great. I only wish the entire sole was on the outside instead of the inside because the leather bunches a little….I’m not a Marbury fan at all, but when someone can come out with a shoe that doesn’t take food out of a families mouth, I’m a fan of that… I can go thru 13 pair of these before I spend $200. Do the math….If you blow a pair of sneakers every other month @ $200 per pair your at $1,200 for the year. Blow out a pair of Starbury’s every week @ $15 per pair and your at $780. That’s 52 pair….Come on what makes more sense….
Nike haven’t been cool for about a decade. Design has improved of late, but the swoosh kills it. Style aficionados wouldn’t be seen dead in them but these Starbury shoes and Stephon Marbury, rock with attitude .I’d love a pair please Starbury. cefrith at hotmail dot com if you know your stuff
dogg, not only does he make good basketball shoes for 15 bucks, i mean he also has causal shoes and workin boots for 10 bucks. I mean thats amazin cause now u dont need to spend 150 bucks on timbos, 80 on forces, and 175 on jordans. now U can get shoes for every accasion for less that 40 bucks
