ProHipHop Shouts Back to New York and Atlanta

I check some of my ProHipHop web stats via Blogbeat and they include what's called a "City Cloud" that provides a graphic image of which cities have the most ProHipHop visitors.  Usually New York is the clear standout, though I need to ask them what they mean by New York since they also list New York City.  Maybe they mean all the boroughs, I'm not sure, but I was struck by the fact that for the last week or so Brooklyn and Atlanta have been the hot spots.

I wish Blogbeat broke it down by neighborhood because, since the Age of Surveillance is full steam ahead, I want my fair share of the benefits.  I'd just want to be sure my base of support isn't Williamsburg and Little Five Points, though that's probably where you'd find me, drinking coffee and looking pretentious.

But I really dig knowing that I'm linking into New York and Atlanta which represent so much of the core of hip hop business power.  Though hip hop, like everything else pretty much, is experiencing an ongoing process of decentralization, it's hard not to recognize that New York and Atlanta are major centers for the hip hop business world as well as key destinations for young people who want to get into that world.

So good looking out to the North and the South!

I need to take a closer look at what I can learn from Blogbeat on who's where but you're definitely not alone.

In fact, Julien from inoveryourhead.net has even written a guest column:

I also need to watch Blogbeat more over time, for example, the Bronx and Los Angeles are the big sources shown as I write this.

In general, I get traffic from all over the world with countries that are predominantly English speaking plus countries with a lot of English speakers.

ahh cool to hear that, I stumbled on your site while lookin for more info on Steve Stoute's company last week. And now i'm checkin' Prohiphop.com daily while takin' my coffee or after work. Thanks for putting up this website Mr. Smith!
