Nike – Breath

In a new Paul Hunter directed commercial for Nike that immediately reminded me of an earlier Nike commercial with an Afrika Bambaataa soundtrack (shown below) that also turns out to be directed by Paul Hunter, we see that adding a more complicated set and more athletes in motion leads to a much less interesting commercial.

Nike – Freestyle

The Freestyle commercial not only features music by Afrika Bambaataa and Hydraulic Funk, but has choreography by Savion Glover, one of the greatest dancers of our time.  That’s hard to beat, so maybe this is really a less is less situation.
