50 Cent/Young Buck Rumors Don't Sound Like Rumors

Usually when I read so-called rumor columns I turn around and check the news because at least half of what such columns usually run isn't a rumor by the time they post and probably never was in the first place.  But when illseed talks, I listen, cause CC knows what's up!

illseed oftens mixes rumor with breaking news and his 50 Cent/G-Unit rumor column linked above also goes back a day or so.  I'm mentioning this because ever since first seeing how 50 handles beef by putting a straightjacket on everybody around him, I've wondered when the whole thing would start falling apart.

The Game was one thing.  He's clearly got some issues that throw him off severely on a tactical basis.  Hard to say if he thinks strategically.  But 50 Cent basically telling Dr. Dre to stand down and stay off his album was not a good sign.

Young Buck is a different matter.  I'm not a fan but the fact that he's challenging 50 Cent's obsession with beefs says a lot about what kind of man he is.  Given his current strength on the charts and the fact that 50 Cent doesn't really seem to do that much for him, the outcome looks fairly inevitable.

Not surprised by this at all. This is like a page straight out of WWE. All of the individuals are getting paid by the same parent company. (as far as albums go)

When beef with an outsider goes bad, one quick way to fall fast and get up stronger than ever is infighting with your crew. The money and fame for all of them would be strong from it.

That's a great point though I question what such a strategy would do for the artists as opposed to the label.

For a lot of reasons I can't see this as a fake feud designed to ratchet up anybody's sales. Having seen 50 in action in the media, he's got a scorched earth policy. 50 and those above him are the only ones benefitting.

I saw the process you describe in an academic department at OSU from which I got my doctorate. The department was really new and had come into being after a long struggle between the faculty creating it, who appeared to share issues and concerns, and various faculty across campus who had a nice array of issues.

As one of the faculty members who had spearheaded the new department told me, after they beat their outside enemies, they turned on each other.

That's when I came in and got to see a group of faculty who had actually accomplished something that was quite powerful take the whole down thing through infighting over total nonsense, much of it fueled by jealousy over who was popular among the students and who was most well known internationally in their field.

That department is gone, the faculty dispersed again and each back to building their own things. That process included the death of a program that moved to that department that was the only one of its kind in existence (my advisor killed it through hubris and a belief that he was smarter and more powerful than he really was).

There was a lot lost in all that. The first victory against outsiders positioned this department for really big things.

The infighting destroyed it.

WWE, OSU or some bizarre combination?

I think adding guns to the mix complicates things immensely.

50 gonna self destruct.soon

A business tactic?

fake feud designed to ratchet up any body's sales.

Good point when you think about how 50 has been speaking about his current situation and Interscope as he owes them more albums on his contract.

If he makes the public perceive that G-Unit artists on an album wont ever happen again, its a way to generate sales in my opinion.

50 Still needs to provide those last 3 albums!

50 cent is still a tactical bastard and uses the media to his advantage.

I don't understand 50 sometimes, I mean im a die hard fan of his and G-unit but 50 is destroying his own group I understand why he lt go of wack game but then Olivia, problems with Yayo (about the slapping the 14 year old) and know one of his best and most loyal soldiers? Come on Fif get it together man I don't want to see a sequal of N.W.A. and most certainly not the fall of G-unit.

50 al bout makin ca$h 4 himself, he saw g-unit artist makin momey 4 him fist 1 who did the game-found out, n got kickd out.now uda members arent selling so dey no use 2 him 50"s a POES! hope u die slow
