Chris Citero Raps an Advertising Symposium Intro
Rap Intro to Advertising Symposium
A recent Advertising Symposium at UNC-Chapel Hill organized by the Student Advertising Club [no website that I could find] got a surprise rap introduction by senior advertising major Chris Citero.
I couldn't make out all the words but he's definitely introducing a symposium and he does it quite skillfully.
By the way, after he's done rapping, the last couple of minutes are a normal introduction that boringly repeats things that I'm pretty sure I heard in the rap.

They should've let Citero be a keynote speaker/performer for the symposium. Dude is dope.

Back when the catalog from Sears was used by Farmers
There was a man and people called him Volney Palmer
Responsible for the purpose, purchase, and selling of ads
It wasn’t worthless it was the first of a number of fads
And that’s…when a guy came along…his name was Francis
it hadn’t been done before…he took his chances
he created-the-one, N.W. Ayer & Son
the first full service agency and that’s how the story begun
at the…turn-of-the-century…earnings grew exponentially
eventually…to businesses agencies were an entity
’twas the beginning and evolution, industrial revolution
for problems we got solutions, we gotta make a contribution
technology age, we’re forced to rearrange
creatively use our brains in ways that’s producing change
Reach and Frequency are now the measurements of old times
and You tube’s making television look like phone lines
We’re just…waiting our turn, ready and willing to learn
no time to burn, just time to earn
and now that we’re gathered, its time to start-the-session
whether you’re into Copyrighting or Art Direction
Account Planning, Interactive Marketing, Targeting, choosing media
Account Management wanted to set a meeting up
Its time for panel discussion, intelligent conversation
from the looks of things it seems that we have a good combination
From The Wonderfactory with magic like Mary Poppins
its supercalifragilistic… Jared Cocken
But as you know we’re dealing with an imminent matter
you’re about to hear from the man who created the Internet banner
if advertising was a race, he’d finish first in the Grand Prix
Without further a due… Joe McCambley
