Bacardi BLive sealed their "lead sponsor" status for the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Fall ’08 season with a $25k check ceremony last week and also sponsored a show over the weekend with Sean Paul, Talib Kweli, Calle 13 and DJ Mark Ronson at the Steiner Studios in the Brooklyn Old Navy Yard.
Miraflor saw the free show:
The venue was pretty ridiculous. Bacardi put some serious money into this – I can’t emphasize that enough. There was a concert pit in front of center stage with room for a thousand+, a large VIP tent to the left of the stage, bleachers to the right, 7 or 8 bars, a food stand, 3 jumbo-tron screens, a full press tent, and a good amount of swag. I’m not sure if the BLive series is meant to be a big tax write-off by Bacardi, but they certainly poured a good amount of money for this free concert series.
