Common: I Want You Video Trailer

Video Trailer for Common - I Want You

If you'd ask me if I thought a trailer for a music video would be worth watching, I would have asked you to please move along before I caused a scene.

But I'm finding music video trailers like the above for Common's I Want You and the trailer for Jay-Z's Blue Magic are worth watching, maybe not multiple times or after the actual video comes out, but totally in keeping with the microchunked nature of successful web entertainment.

Unlike the snippet previews of Jay-Z's Superbowl ads, these trailers are complete in their own right, though the big draw occurs prior to the release of the video.  And that's why they exist, to help create an enviroment of anticipation while functioning as an entertaining microchunk good enough for the passing moment.
