I’ve decided to ignore all Best of 2007 awards given before the end of the year. Technically I should be following them since it is good pr and I may rewrite that policy if needed but, for the moment, no Best of 2007 awards will be honored unless given after the actual year is over.
The breaking point came a few moments ago with Mashable’s post regarding the Best of 2007: Top 7 Tech News Stories. Before I go any further, I don’t mean to look like I’m picking on Mashable. It’s a great source of news that I’m now following regularly and will, no doubt, become the inspiration of useful future posts [unlike this one which is not so useful].
Look, I know people quickly lose interest in 2007 after the New Year but what if a major data center loses it or gets bombed before New Year’s, wouldn’t that be the biggest story? And aren’t we poised for such an event?
Just a reminder that it ain’t over till it’s over. That’s all I’m saying.
