Kim Osorio's Blog, Def Jam's Next President & the Reinscription of NY Media Hegemony

Kim Osorio shares the unedited version of her BET blog post regarding her thoughts on who might be Def Jam's next President and humorously eliminates most celebrity candidates.

This could be a great blog if she stays with it.

Checking it out also reminds me of my recognition that, even as bloggers undermine previous publishing hierarchies, the interconnection of NY blogs and websites in hip hop is reinscribing New York's hip hop media hegemony online.

It's certainly not a neat and easy process and it won't be as total as New York's post-WWII/pre-21st Century media reign but it's working surprisingly well as NY celebrity bloggers complete the love loop focusing primarily on NY bloggers and websites.
