Blackground Music issued a statement today regarding the passing of Stephen "Static" Garrett.

In addition to writing a wide range of songs for RnB and rap artists Static intended to introduce his "alter ego" Major on his debut album Suppertime.  I Got My featuring Lil Wayne was intended as the first single.
