Obama/Edwards '08!
After starting out the day with a post about racist nastiness emerging in the context of the Barack Obama run for President and, given the fact that it's looking like I won't really post today, I just wanted to express my happiness at John Edwards' endorsement of Obama.
I don't even have a permanent link for you. It's all over the news and so are the pics.
But don't they look good together?
That's the ticket right there. And I've never seen John Edwards looking so Vice Presidential!
[Like all Yahoo news links, this one will die, but check these guys out!]

Obama, Edwards OH-EIGHT has a nice ring to it.

That was my original pick for a ticket this fall, although it's far from certain, and perhaps a bit premature. Edwards resonated with a certain population that Obama is having trouble connecting with. It's also noteworthy that Edwards may not be as divisive a figure as Clinton would be on the ticket. And truthfully, many who prefer Clinton probably won't vote for Obama even if he chooses her as running mate.

Well, he did have practice wit Kerry in '04.

Eric - it may be premature but it feels so right!
"Edwards resonated with a certain population that Obama is having trouble connecting with."
And that's not just working class whites. I think Edwards is the perfect white man to hold things down cause all these white people telling you it's not about race, uh, well, I don't believe we've evolved to such a high state.
And he's so well-spoken!
"he did have practice wit Kerry in '04."
That's right. He already knows the steps!
He's seen a lot and I think he's managed to get to this point with a pretty strong brand. When he bowed out he got so much good press that, in some ways, he was actually stronger than before.
We'll see but I love the timing of this and I love the look and I actually give a damn about some politicians for a change.
It's kind of a weird feeling!
