Twitter's Down But Here to Stay: So Get Started

Now that Twitter's getting serious funding, with Amazon's Jeff Bezos on board, I'm guessing that they'll work out their little downtime problem and have a chance to become a much broader phenomenon.

I don't use Twitter myself, though both ProHipHop and Hip Hop Press have Twitter feeds, but lots of other folks in hip hop and the music industry do.  In fact, just the other day, I was informed that an up-and-coming blogger first distinguished herself with some "moves on Twitter"!

So, if you're trying to sort out this Twitter thing, here are some resources to start you off via College @ Home.

Once you're signed up, you'll need to have some folks to which to tweet or to simply follow:

And once you're addicted, you'll have to deal with the downtime issue:

But there's so much more Twitter fun possible as Mashable reveals:

And if you're still wondering, "where's the money?", see what intrepid early adopter Marshall Kirkpatrick had to say late last year:
Twitter is Paying My Rent

Now if we just had an Urban Twitter...

Update:
But what if Twitter's as dead as hip hop?

Comments

Clyde: Nice post.
A lot more rappers/hip hop peoples have signed up for Twitter since (not to mention all the people masquerading as rappers), but I haven't bothered to update it.
I do recommend the Notorious BIG's Twitter for a laugh or two.
