Twitter's Down But Here to Stay: So Get Started
Now that Twitter's getting serious funding, with Amazon's Jeff Bezos on board, I'm guessing that they'll work out their little downtime problem and have a chance to become a much broader phenomenon.
I don't use Twitter myself, though both ProHipHop and Hip Hop Press have Twitter feeds, but lots of other folks in hip hop and the music industry do. In fact, just the other day, I was informed that an up-and-coming blogger first distinguished herself with some "moves on Twitter"!

A lot more rappers/hip hop peoples have signed up for Twitter since (not to mention all the people masquerading as rappers), but I haven't bothered to update it.
I do recommend the Notorious BIG's Twitter for a laugh or two.
