Z-Ro: Crack Album Cover Art

Z-Ro: Crack album cover art

Z-Ro - Crack

Z-Ro's Crack is due September 23rd from Rap-a-Lot.

This album's presales on Amazon are off to a good start.  I guess I've been way too hopeful about the prospects of "music about dealing poison to the people" having run its course.

But I guess that's ok as long as I get my cut.  Thanks for dropping by!

Note:
Various fans of Z-Ro have pointed out what he says he's up to with the use of Crack as the title.  I feel what folks are saying but, then again, crack ruined a lot of lives and will ruin many more.

When choosing a metaphor, it's always worth considering all the extensions of that metaphor or risk not connecting with folks who aren't already familiar with your work.

although i'd thankfully agree with the notion that "music about dealing poison to the people" has run its course, i wouldn't necessarily regard z-ro's material as such. in the least, it's artistically worth a second listen...

Fair enough. I'll remain open till I hear some more.

jaekim u couldnt be more correct. i own about 15 z-ro CD's and his music is incredibly deep. full of pain. its different than that of ur average rapper. he has beautiful melody as well. check him out again Clyde. i think youll like what you hear

No your right...It has run its course! Unfortunately Z-Ro didn't get the memo yet.

I mean we could have a Black family in the Whitehouse in a few months, and rappers want to continue to push a tired, cliche like 'crack rap'?

Move on Black Man...Move On!

Z-RO IS THE BEST RAPPER OUT OF HOUSTON

The album is not about the drug 'crack'. He says he was addicted to making the album and you will be mentally addicted to listening to it.

Mike Y is right. It's not about drugs... it's about how he was addicted to making it. Also, he said he hopes people will "treat it like crack"... spend their last 15 bucks on it, borrow money for it, etc.

Go to 'YouTube' and type in Z-RO INSIDE SCOOP 2008. He compares the album 'Crack' to Dr. Dre's 'Chronic' album. Oh and T-BEN254 posted that message. Yall give The King of The Ghetto a lil more credit. I been hearing him rap about real shyt for damn near 15 yrs now. In my eyes he is the next best rapper second to Pac. Str8 up!! I know somebody feel me on that too!

"Also, he said he hopes people will "treat it like crack"... spend their last 15 bucks on it, borrow money for it, etc."

I bet he does!
