America's Best Dance Crew 3 Auditions, Seeks "All Styles of Dance"

America's Best Dance Crew 3 Audition Schedule

America's Best Dance Crew 3 Audition Schedule

Auditions for America's Best Dance Crew 3 kick off quite soon, as you can see from the poster above.  For more info, see America's Best Dance Crew 3 @ MySpace.

However, the end may be near for ProHipHop coverage of this show because, according to the email I received:

"This year we are looking for great crews experienced in ALL STYLES of dance, not just hip hop.  The groups must consist of 5-7 members and be 18 years of age and older."

That's right, America's Best Dance Crew 3 will no longer be a hip hop focused dance contest.

Though many folks involved with breakdancing and the like may well say good riddance to the show's claim to hip hop, check FOBBDeep and Hip Hop Lives for future consideration of what this means for Filipino visibility.

I have a pretty good idea of what this means for blond white girl visibility.

Update:
Just heard from Casting Producer Carrie Foster who says "the show is still going to end up being predominately hip hop but we are welcoming other styles that still have a hip hop element to spice thing up a bit."

Cool.  The thing is, the show would have started to lose audience if something wasn't changed but it's nice to know that the hip hop element will remain.
