Pharrell: A Mac User in Microsoft's "I'm a PC" Ads

Chris Tangora at MacMod has been grappling with Microsoft's "I'm a PC" ads and, after some interesting false starts, decided to look at the actual computers used by folks in the ads, such as Pharrell, and found that many are actually Mac users.

While he doesn't find out what Pharrell uses away from the studio, he does point to this article in Remix about the production of Seeing Sounds in which the "Apple Power Mac Dual 1.8 GHz G5 with Cinema Display" is included in their gear list.

Media Bistro's Agency Spy digs deeper in "Microsoft Gets Pharrell Williams To Lie For Them" which includes multiple links to documentation of Pharrell's love for all things Apple.

This one's on Pharrell for taking the money and participating in a dishonest campaign.

This situation is doubly disappointing because I've thought of Pharrell as having a certain amount of integrity and I also think this ad concept is a lot better than the weirdo Seinfeld/Gates vignettes.

Comments

Reminds me of when Pharrell was in the HP "intergalactic artist" commercials.
