Signs of Smart Marketing: Encouraging Unsubscriptions

I’ve received two emails recently for Hip Hop Press that gave me a mild sense of hope for the future of email marketing, though I know it’s too late for many of you!

Both emails mentioned unsubscribing from their list in the subject line and in the beginning of the email.

Now, I’m not unsubscribing because I’m all about getting promotional hip hop email at:
hiphoppress(at)netweed(dot)com

But I just want to thank Kim Ellis and Takeovaradio for encouraging people to unsubscribe from their email lists.

They’re smart.  They want real lists not some padded concoction, full of people who marked it as sp@m long ago, designed to generate numbers that impress the unknowing long enough to cause them to part with some cash.
