American Classics at Wal-Mart: Workers Ask “What’s That?”

I was in the local Raleigh, NC Wal-Mart picking up my monthly supply of $4 meds and discount Kashi GoLean bars and asked some women working in the clothing department when they were getting Russell Simmon's American Classics clothing line.

Their response: "What's that?"

After telling them it was an "outdated clothing line by an outdated hip hop businessman" I encouraged them to "have a nice day" and went on about my shopping in another section of that depressing retail outlet which will make an awesome backdrop for Big Russ' recession-era specials.

nice. I was just in Charlotte on a layover. I’m sure there’s plenty of laid off workers that will be shopping at Wal-Mart and buying Russ’ gear. If you’re ever wondering where at least a portion of that $2 billion he’s capitalized via the Rush Card is going, now you know. I know a good portion of it is getting thrown away on that piece of web junk called the Global Grind. And on a certain employee at GG who lied to a Manhattan jury on her way to collecting a million dollar judgement, then contradicting herself in a memoir. But that’s just between me, you and ProHipHop readers.
