Kanye needed a redeeming album after the 808’s, and Heartbreaks was a stunning attempt, but a tragic disappointment. His Dark Twisted Fantasy was one of the best albums of the year with a very honest soul to it and top notch production that has made him one of the very best voices in hip hop.
Lloyd Banks “The Hunger for More 2”
Lloyd Banks has been living in the shadow of his G-Unit counterpart, 50 Cent for years, but with his “The Hunger for More 2,” Banks took another step out of the shadow to prove that he was one of the brightest stars rising in the hip hop world. Banks has a vocal that commands attention and his skills as an emcee have only been strengthened over the years. Banks forged his own path.
These albums have been part of a landmark year for hip hop. It’s proven that hip hop is more than just counter culture.
