ProHipHop Show Spotlight: MTV’s ‘Son Of A Gun’

Every now and then there’s a show that gets out attention not because of the people in it, but the drama and the real situations that come out of it. Lately for us at ProHipHop, that show has been ‘Son Of A Gun’, starring old school Hip Hop legend Peter Gunz and his son Cory. Cory has lots of battles to face as he’s deciding who to pit his loyalty against in the war between who manages him. Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint luckily has him signed under them, but as one of the hottest acts to emerge and guest on Lil Wayne’s ’6 foot 7 foot’ single, Cory has to work even harder to prove himself worthy of the hottest spitta in the game.

When was your first time hearing about Cory Gunz? Whether it’s from his mixtapes or features, you gotta admit he’s one to look out for this year. Being on the Young Money roster doesn’t hurt either, as the talent pool over there is easily up there with Rick Ross’ MMG imprint. One key player on this show is Nick Cannon, who has known Gunz since a teenager and being the CEO of N’Credible entertainment is managing some artists you might have heard of like-

And lastly Cory.

We at ProHipHop give this show 5 stars, for it’s ability to bring you into the grittier world the music industry can sometimes be. More often than not, artists get dropped from labels, washed up and never heard from again. Of course we don’t expect that for Cory, as his fire-spitting abilities prove him time and time again to be able to roll with the best, plus his dad was pretty dope with Lord Tariq in the 90′s, who are we kidding?
