According to Billboard, Diddy's Last Train to Paris has been delayed while Lil Wayne's Rebirth has been pushed back indefinitely. Neither seem to have new dates.
I don't doubt Diddy will follow through but I've had a feeling for awhile that we won't see Rebirth released. We won't see Detox either but that's another story.
WIDEawake Death Row is digging into the vaults of Dr. Dre to release The Chronic Re Lit and a bonus DVD, From The Vault, on September 1st:
"This package includes the sixteen original Chronic songs digitally re-mastered, profound liner notes from one of Dr. Dre's long time colleagues and friends, award winning producer and documentary film maker Quincy Jones III, plus a second DVD collection entitled From The Vault."
"This DVD is packed with Chronic videos, promotional pieces, and a special never before released 30 minute in studio interview with Dr. Dre discussing the future of hip hop. But that's not all - the From The Vault DVD includes Seven unreleased and rare release songs from Snoop Doggy Dogg, soulstress Jewell, CPO, and Kurupt."
There's also a contest with free downloads planned for the Death Row Records website but it's not yet in motion.

Billboard's Gail Mitchell and Melinda Newman take a nice long look at "How Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' Changed The Music Business".
Of course, sales of Thriller, the highest selling studio album of all time, were certainly extraordinary. But a variety of changes affected the music industry, partly fueled by the strength of the previous album Off The Wall, including a simultaneous worldwide release, the release of an unprecedented seven singles and the breakthrough effects of the Thriller music video extravaganza.
The article does a nice job of putting those changes in meaningful context beyond the stats.

Clearing up some confusion but perhaps creating more, Billboard reports that "numerous sources have confirmed" that Jay-Z will drop his next album, Blueprint 3, on 9/11, a Friday, on "Roc Nation with distribution through Atlantic Records."
If correct, now we know what's up with his next album, though not what follows and not why he chose September 11th, a day fraught with added significance to New Yorkers over all folks.
I jokingly wondered out loud if Jay-Z's decision would be "officially announced via Twitter or a Vibe Top 50 blog" and it turns out that both are cited by Billboard:
"Sam Crespo, VP of Rap Promotions at Atlantic Records who goes by the twitter name TheCrespo, first confirmed the news in a Twitter posting yesterday afternoon. The post was removed hours later. A MissInfo.tv blog posting also revealed the details but was subsequently removed."
