The Black Eyed Peas had a nice run in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart and they might be back but the party's already over for Kid Cudi and Lil Boosie.

Jay-Z slips to no. 2 in the face of Pearl Jam, which brings no shame, while Drake's remastered mixtape goes for week two in the Top 10 and that's the most impressive part of all this news.

Albums: Jay-Z #1, Kid Cudi #4, Drake #6, Lil Boosie #7, Black Eyed Peas #10

Wow! Young rappers, old rappers, they're all doing it big this week on the Billboard 200 album chart. The biggest surprise to me is Drake's So Far Gone which did much better than some of us expected given it's wide and free availability online.

Not sure how many of those sales are hard copy but it just shows how far we've come in a 3 1/2 year period from the days when folks could get away with claiming that free was a bad look. Now it's more about how to work with free as a pricing strategy.

2. Whitney Houston - I Look To You
3. Muse - The Resistance

Albums: Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 #1 Puts Him Ahead of Elvis

Blueprint 3's no. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 album chart puts him behind only the Beatles for most no. 1 albums:

"Jay-Z's No. 1 achievement with "Blueprint 3" will push him ahead of Elvis Presley as the solo act with the most No. 1 albums in the more-than 50-year history of the Billboard 200. And Jay will now have the second-most No. 1 albums among all acts. Fittingly, only the Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more."

Tell that to baby boomers that still don't get hip hop. They might not like it but they won't forget it!

On a very different note, though there seem to have been some distribution snags for Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. II, it still makes the top 10 at no. 4.

1. Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3
2. Miley Cyrus - The Time of Our Lives

5. Brooks and Dunn - #1s ... And Then Some
6. Trey Songz - Ready
7. Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D.

Whitney's I Look To You rules the world as the Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. exits the top 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

However, it's a decent week for hip hop as Insane Clown Posse's Bang! Pow! Boom! debuts at no. 4, giving them their second top 10 and pointing to the power of building your tribe, while Pitbull's Rebelution debuts at no. 8.
