VIBE has announced a rather odd contest in which rappers submit videos of themselves freestyling over an Eminem instrumental with two eventually facing off at a VIBE event. Winners will be designated Eminem's No. 1 Stan.
It's tied into Eminem's money making return with Relapse and his appearance on the cover of VIBE's 2nd Annual Real Rap Issue. And it should be cool for the top contestants but somehow winning a contest to be crowned a Stan, i.e. a f*cked, up over the top fan, throws off the overall message, IMHO.

BMI will present its 12th Annual Unsigned Urban Showcase in Atlanta on Thursday, April 23rd with host DJ Khaled and headlining performers Trey Songz, NAS, and Capitol Records signee Novel.
