Raekwon Party Videos: Grandmaster Caz, Cappadonna, Ice-T, Ghostface Killah, Mele Mel

GRANDGOOD has a bunch of live videos from the Raekwon Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt II release party a couple of weeks back.

It looks like a great time and it's very cool to see the older school cats there. Mele Mel even hits the stage for a version of The Message which was the song that clued in so many of us to the fact that hip hop was becoming something more than nursery rhymes over intoxicating beats.

Why I Fear for Kanye West: Fame Kills [Suicide] Tour, Truman Show [Dissociative] References

Kanye's made it clear that he's saying no to rehab with the announcement of The Fame Kills Tour with Lady Gaga.

Given that he's never taken a break since his mom died and that he seems to be devolving into a man who's willing to ruin a teen's coming out party over a stupid video award, West clearly has problems that he's avoiding that have already led to adolescent acting out on a world stage.

That's worrisome enough but when one adds his recent comparison of his life to the Truman Show, one has to wonder if he's begun to suffer from some form of dissociative disorder.

The ProHipHop Psychomedical Studies Group feels that the most likely outcome of this knot of symptoms is an on-tour collapse with the classic coverup diagnosis of "exhaustion and dehydration" or a sudden "healing" discovery of a cult-like psychotherapy guru through his upper class fashion friends.

Or both. Or Scientology.  Who/whatever gets to him first.

Note: For those who once considered blogs a revolutionary media tool, this is how the game of counter-revolution is played and is an excellent example of what the Situationists termed "recuperation":

"The counterrevolution does not take up revolutionary ideas because it is malign or manipulative, let alone short of ideas, but because revolutionary ideas deal with real problems with which the counterrevolution is confronted."

"Official 'revolutionary' thought is the scouting party of capital."

Knew that revo theory ish would come in handy one day!

Key Point: The sweet twist of BET's knife comes with the focus on New York based blogs and sites. Except for World Star Hip Hop, whose location is hidden as much as possible and is still unclear, all contestants in this category are based in the New York area, unlike absolutely every other category on this list.

A double edged recuperation at the very least though I would argue that, in the long run, it's actually an endgame and therefore a temporary recuperation at best.

Enjoy it while you can!
