Chase N. Cashe Talks about His Friendship With Canadian Rapper Drake

Chase N. Cashe
There are many things that describe Chase N. Cashe. He has revealed that his musical talent is a mixture of different ingredients, including his love for rap music. Having produced hits for many artists including Eminem and Brandy, the New Orleans, Louisiana native is also known for his songwriting skills. But one of the most interesting things about the popular artist is his closeness with Drake.

In a recent interview, the American rapper opens up on his friendship with famed rapper Drake. He also shared his admiration for the Canadian artist and admitted that they have a strong bond based on mutual love and respect as artists in the music industry.

Based on Chase N. Cashe’s words in an interview with “The Source”, he had begun building friendship with Drake many years ago. He disclosed: “This goes back to when we were 16 years old. We’re talking about two people who met each other, had the same dream coming from different backgrounds but very like-minded. We’re talking about two people who’ve always been introducing each other to new stuff. I’ve met a bunch of beautiful people through him and he’s met a lot of beautiful people through me and we’ve done a bunch of beautiful things together. We’re always going to have that bond to where anything I learn, anything he learns, we’re going to give it to each other.”

Cashe also talks about the strength of their friendship amidst a volatile entertainment industry. He fondly stated: “It’s a brotherly bond. It’s what you would do with anyone you care for, anybody you love. You want to see them at their best and that’s the bond we have.” No wonder Cashe acknowledged the Toronto, Ontario native’s huge success in the music industry.

Ludacris Dallas Census 2010 Video aka Luda Shows You How to Market an Album

Ludacris Dallas Census 2010

Notice how Ludacris has been everywhere at once beginning prior to the release of Battle Of The Sexes and continuing after? It's called marketing and whether it's a high charting duet with Justin Bieber (crossmarketing) or helping promote the U.S. Census (doing good work in the community) it all builds the brand and helps promote product sales on top of the more straightforward advertising and album related appearances.

If I was still digging in and looking at campaigns in a thorough manner, I'd be looking at Ludacris right now. And that's been true all this year as you can tell from just these ProHipHop 2010 posts alone:

Luda On The Block

Luda On The Block

Ludacris will be getting out to support African American participation in the U.S. Census with the Luda On The Block campaign, a multilayered effort:

"FCB, NY, the lead agency for the 2010 Census Communications Campaign, has enlisted Globalhue advertising agency (GH), along with production and digital marketer RC-CP, and Disturbing the Peace Records (DTP), to effectively reach the vast nationalities representing the black Diaspora; including the AA, African, Caribbean and Haitian audiences."

"To create awareness and motivate this elusive, hard to count demographic who are young, single males (AA males tend to be the most undercounted in the AA community), indifferent females (single with children), the poor and underprivileged, people with criminal issues, and immigrants, this "Viral/Ludacris Webisode" campaign will run from March through April. The outreach includes radio broadcast media, a tour, and a national viral webisode campaign featuring Ludacris."

"The 2010 Census 'Luda on the Block' radio and home visit tour is slated to hit 5 nationwide AA targeted destinations (Dallas 3/19, New Orleans 3/23, NYC 4/5, Washington DC 4/6 and Atlanta 4/9). It gives Ludacris fans an opportunity to log on to participating radio station websites and write how their neighborhoods could benefit from 2010 Census funding. Some fans will be given a chance to meet and discuss the 2010 Census with him in person."

Kelis PWNS PETA

I'm more sympathetic to PETA than some and the folks that attack PETA usually don't do that smart a job but Kelis' response to PETA rocks. Especially her points about folks that find it more important to save minks than our own starving American kids!

Now I'm not into ranking causes, because I see the stupid, pointless conversations that result, but I think Kelis' job of pointing to where she agrees with PETA while not budging an inch on her take on the overall situation is quite nice and well worth reading.

Lupe Fiasco & Santigold Make It to the Top of Mt. Kilimanjaro w/Summit on the Summit

Summit on the Summit

The Summit on the Summit

Lupe, Santigold and a cross-section of celebrities made it to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the last day or so. Don't know exactly when, yesterday I'm guessing, but the press release only discusses time, not date.

The official site may say but after a few minutes of multimedia fun I gave up on information gathering. But the group, including Kenna, Lupe Fiasco, Isabel Lucas, Emile Hirsch, Jessica Biel, Santigold, Elizabeth Gore, Alexandra Cousteau, Bernise Ang, Kick Kennedy, Simon Isaacs, Michael Muller, Jimmy Chin, Melissa Arnot and Dr. Greg Allgood, sound like they've done well with the challenge.

From the press release:

"Fellow climbers Lupe Fiasco and Emile Hirsch shared their thoughts after summiting. Hirsch said, "The last 48 hours have been the most intense and physically grueling experience of my life, miraculously we all made it to the top together. To have such a complete success for such a worthwhile cause – the global clean water crisis – more than reaching the summit is what is really satisfying " Lupe added, "The thrill of conquering your fears especially in such a physically and mentally taxing environment can't really be done justice in words.""

"After six intense days of hiking and climbing, the group set out for their final trek at 1:30am local time and after nearly seven hours reached the Uhuru peak which generally has only a 75% success rate. Each participant battled a plethora of physical and natural elements over the past week to make the ascent. Between coping with weather ranging from rain, hail, snow and the effects of altitude, including headaches, dizziness and fatigue among other ailments all made the over 50 mile journey that much more arduous. Immediately after summiting, the group descended for an additional six plus hours of hiking to 12000 feet, where they will make their final night of camp."

Just couldn't get enough. I'd be grabbing a helicopter out of there if I was a celeb!
