Hip-Hop Artist Conglomerate L.G Releases “The Dynasty”Mixtape

There’s a growing hip-hop dynasty emerging in one of our country’s most popular entertainment outlets. Atlantic City isn’t your typical Jersey city known for its presence of hip-hop artists, but the masses will be presently surprised by the L.G Click – accurately standing for “Lyrically Gifted”.

The L.G Click is a group of M.C’s all born in A.C, opposite side of Trump City, and they paint you a picture of what life is like on the other side of the casino’s bright lights. L.G’s sound is original, thought-provoking and lyrically elite. Dynasty Entertainment releases L.G’s first mixtape entitled “The Dynasty” featuring some of Atlantic City’s most talented MCs.

“Got them Worrying” the first single off of The Dynasty mixtape is already playing on the online radio circuit and has gained notable attention with DJ’s in the US and overseas.

L.G’s number one goal is to set a mark on the industry and be known as innovators of the game, not merely trend followers. “LG brings a much needed breath of fresh air to an industry that has become stale, stagnated and predictable”, says the group’s member/producer Fahim Saadiq.

Other notable tracks on the CD include “Hard Times” and “Dirty Jerz” an anthem with a sample tribute to hip-hop legend Kool G Rap. All tracks are also available on myspace – http://www.myspace.com/the-dynasty. Dynasty Entertainment will soon be releasing two solo projects from members D.A.W.U and Fahim Saadiq, both from Atlantic City NJ. This pair has been performing/producing for over a decade and has opened up for hip-hop greats like KRS One, The Roots, and DeLa Soul.

Wale’s “The Eleven One Eleven Theory” Mixtape Crashes Hulkshare Server

Maybach Music Group continues to solidify its stake in the rap game with the release of a new mixtape from DC’s-finest Wale. Wale took to Twitter last Wednesday at 1:11pm EDT to upload “The Eleven One Eleven Theory” as a make-good to fans who helped him reach 1 million followers on the social networking site disrupting service for not only Hulkshare, but another download portal, Sendspace. According to Hulkshare, the traffic surrounding the download to its server resulted in temporary crash to the site. CEO Ted Brinkofski commented, ”This is actually the first time it’s due to an existing file. It’s certainly an exciting milestone, but not a pleasurable one.” While other major acts have used Hulkshare to release music, Wale’s newest effort was the first time the site experienced such technical difficulties. The result lead to 7 trending topics on Twitter associated with Wale and the mixtape.

With over 100k downloads in the first few hours of release, the album has received an overwhelming response across the blogosphere. Russell Simmons’ GlobalGrind.com stated, “Wale is continuously letting us know that he is a great contender in the music industry.” Examiner.com heralded Wale as “one of the best rappers in the game, and he’s put in some major work to get there. The DC rapper always brings his brilliant wordplay to every tape.” OkayPlayer.com summed up the experience with, “By 2:22pm, I have digested it and found it post-worthy. By 3:33pm, I predict you will be well into it, too.”

While the mixtape continues to hit up on the streets, Wale’s radio picture is just as impressive. His single “That Way,” featuring Jeremih and label boss Rick Ross, was the #1 Most Added song at Urban Mainstream this week with rotation pick-ups in over 40 markets. The video from the single will be available in the coming weeks.

Earlier this summer, Wale received rave reviews for his performance on Self Made Vol. 1 which debuted in the Top 5 on the Billboard chart and featured appearances from Maybach Music’s Rick Ross, Pill, Meek Mill, Gunplay, Torch and Teedra Moses with additional contributions from Jadakiss, J. Cole, CyHi The Prynce, Curren$y and Jeremih. In addition to Self Made Vol 1., Wale has made a number of standout performances on a number of recent tracks such as the multi-platinum single “No Hands.”

Wale was previously signed to Interscope, releasing his critically acclaimed debut, Attention Deficit, after gaining a cult following on Internet blog sites for his clever wordplay and renowned mixtapes. On his reason for signing Wale to his Maybach Music Group imprint, Ross told MTV, “Just me being a fan of Wale’s lyrics, he’s a lyricist, he’s a fly dude. I feel like he’s gonna make a really huge impact over the next few years.”

Wale is currently on the Roc Nation Heinken DJ Lounge tour throughout the month of August and is gearing up for quite ambitious album tour beginning next month along side such fellow rappers as Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifia, Lupe Fiasco, Meek Mill, Big Sean and many more.

Tragedy Khadafi New Record “Thug Matrix 3″ Set For Release on September 20, 2011

Fellow Juice Crew member and hip-hop icon, Tragedy Khadafi is set to release a new mixtape on September 20, 2011. The mix features Killa Sha with production by: araabMUZIK, Shroom, Audible Doctor, Now & Laterz, and Ayatollah. The debut video entitled “Ill-Luminous Flow” will be available August 2, 2011.

Tragedy says, “Over the years we got allot of support on Part 1 & Part 2 so I want to give my core fan base Thug Matrix 3 before I release my official album, Still Reportin.
In the late 80′s, Tragedy caught the attention of Marley Marl, who went on to produce the duo’s next two singles. He was soon made a junior member of the Juice Crew alongside renowned artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, and MC Shan. After a conviction for robbery followed by time in a correctional facility, Tragedy became a Five Percenter and began working under the alias Intelli-gent Hoodlum. His self-titled debut, Intelligent Hoodlum was released in 1990 and produced by Marley Marl. It was full of political commentary, Five-Percenter rhetoric, and controversial messages in tracks such as “Arrest The President” and “Black and Proud”… Tragedy cemented his place in hip-hop history. He returned in 1993, released his second album, Tragedy: Saga of a Hoodlum. This would be his last album under that moniker.

Trag continued to record throughout the remainder of the 1990s, working with Capone, Noreaga and Mobb Deep, recording “LA, LA,” a response to Tha Dogg Pound’s “NY, NY,” now working under the name Tragedy Khadafi. He also worked extensively on Capone-N-Noreaga’s debut album The War Report.

In 1998, Tragedy formed the group the Iron Sheiks along with his lifelong friend, Imam T.h.u.g. who hailed from the Queensbridge Housing Projects as well. It was on the release of an Iron Shieks EP Tragedy dissed Noreaga accusing him of stealing his style. Soon thereafter, Noreaga retaliated with “Halfway Thugs Pt. II.”

Khadafi’s third album, Against All Odds, was scheduled for release in 1999, but conflicts with his label stalled the release, it was finally released in 2001 to critical praise and featured the first appearance of emcee HeadRush Napoleon & The Late Great Killa Sha who continued to work with Tragedy on future recordings.
In 2005, Trag released Thug Matrix independently and also released an album as a member of the group Black Market Militia. Khadafi’s latest releases, Blood Ballads and Thug Matrix 2, were released simultaneously in 2006.

Recently, Tragedy starred in a documentary entitled: Tragedy- The Story of Queensbridge. It focused on his life and struggles and highlighted growing up a junior member of the Juice Crew, the numerous times he was incarcerated, and the toll life offers growing up a poor African American child who faced life without a father and a mother who was addicted to heroin. The documentary was immersed in well-suited beats and melodies that truly accentuated the tone of the situations that were being described on camera.

OG Boo Dirty Makes His Debut on MTV’s Sucker Free Countdown

After solidifying his place in Memphis’ hip-hop scene, newcomer OG Boo Dirty has set his sights outside Tennessee state lines. The burgeoning lyricist recently made his debut on MTV’s Sucker Free Countdown this month, affirming OG’s talent on a national level.

At just 23 years old, OG has already appeared on tracks with notable rappers Yung Joc and Rocko, performed at Hot 97’s Summer Jam alongside Young Jeezy and Bobby Valentino, and earned a spot on AllHipHop’s Breeding Ground Elite. The series is known for showcasing hip-hop’s rising talents before they appear on the mainstream’s radar. He is part of a new generation of young rappers with DIY (Do It Yourself) sensibilities. With no radio play or a major label backing prior to linking with current label CGI Music Group, OG has managed to cultivate a devout following through social media, internet campaigns, direct to fan mixtapes, and an unwavering street team.

The South Memphis native has garnered a groundswell of support with his latest mixtape (April 2011,)The Story of OG Vol. 1 hosted by DJ Holiday (with 82,000 downloads). His digital full length dropped on June 21, 2011 and was featured on the Itunes Hip-Hop “New Arrivals” for 3 consecutive weeks. The album features notable cameos from Rocko, 8 Ball, Yung Joc, King Azz Star, Playa Fly, DJ Paul and Kia Shine.

Armed with a new video EPK featuring exclusive interviews and tracks, OG is showing he can hold his own among hip-hop’s elite. Despite his newfound success, OG’s career in music was completely happenstance. In 2008, OG went from doing “all the stuff that’ll land you dead or in jail” and freestyling on the block to laying down a track in a recording studio on a whim. Now he packs Memphis venues with crowds singing along to his popular tracks like “Bands On Me” and “She’s A Freak.”
