UK Music Star Saskilla Debuts ‘Yonder’ Music Video

UK-based music star and rapper, Saskilla unveils the stunning music video “Yonder”, his brand new hit single, released via GSpace15. The video was directed by Will Tribble & George Burt and shot in the London underground. The uplifting and rock-influenced song was produced by David Anthony and inspired by a real life story.

“The concept of ‘Yonder’ is meant to be a person’s perspective of the world around them and how the pain and suffer changes and disappears only when you change first,” explains Saskilla, who penned the song after a close friend committed suicide.

Saskilla is hailed as the next breakthrough superstar in the UK, following the path of Tinie Tempah, and Dizzee Rascal. The extravangarde emcee first emerged on the music scene in 2004, developing as an artist on the same renowned underground circuit that has already bred musical successes of Tinie, Dizzee ,and Chipmunk.

It was during these years that Saskilla teamed up with Richie Montana to form the fashion savvy urban collective Nu Brand Flexxx, which most significantly nurtured the career of UK superstar Tinie Tempah. Saskilla is personally credited in his Multi-Platinum selling debut album “Disc-Overy”.

In 2007, as the front man of Nu Brand, Saskilla saw the group’s first single, “Gash By The Hour”, to a No.1 chart position for 17 consecutive weeks on leading urban music television channel AKA This achievement placed Saskilla and Nu Brand firmly on the map, securing performances in some of the biggest clubs across Europe and supporting former Def Jam artist and Celebrity Big Brother contestant Lady Sovereign at a line up of gigs. Dizzee Rascal called upon Saskilla in making a cameo appearance in the video to his biggest selling single “Dance Wiv Me” in 2008, which topped the chart for 4 weeks at No.1.

Besides his musical pathway, Saskilla has made a varying scope of television appearances. He appeared and performed on BBC News night in connection with the 2010 UK General Election and in 2007 he starred in Channel 4′s first of a kind interacted drama series “Dubplate Drama”. He has modelled for a number of major brands Adidas, Nike and Bathing Ape who were keen to position their urban clothing against his cool and charismatic character.

In 2010, Saskilla wrote and recorded the hook and leading verse for “Runway”, a single that would elevate Nu Brand above the monotony of the competition and massively increase awareness of the collective. With over 810k views on YouTube and regular support across radio and television, Saskilla proved he single-handedly has what it takes to hit the mainstream.

Now, Saskilla is set to hit the UK market as a mainstream act. His debut solo single “Yonder” is already receiving blockbuster praise and the music video is pure fire!

Snoop Dogg & Rico Perform New Music Video

Hip-hop star, Snoop Dogg teams up with Air New Zealand’s mascot, Rico to lay down a banging track. Rico, whose risqué antics promoting the airline’s new Skycouch drew some complaints, joins Snoop in his studio to rap the track, “Hello Sunshine”.

Snoop Dogg comments, “Meet this guy [Rico] and you’ll understand why I wanted to work with him. He’s funny. He’s a little bit edgy and a little bit naughty, which is a nice change for an industry that is known for having some of the dullest marketing known to mankind.”

Meanwhile, Rico reveals that he is a huge Snoop Dogg fan and working with him [Snoop] is a dream come true. Rico have always dreamt of singing with lady Gaga or meeting Justin Beiber. “I love all kinds of music including Snoop Dogg, David Bowie, Chromeo and Stevie Wonder. They inspire me, and I have even written a song myself, Love Popsicle”, Rico added.

The “Hello Sunshine” music video features the followings lines…

[Rico]

Ladies, Rico’s here just off the plane,

Ready to take away all your pain.

We’re gonna cook a dish, made to savour

Come add your spice, don’t matter the flavour.

[Snoop]

Here I is, where my baby at tonight?

The big Dogg with the big bite.

Hello sunshine

Would you be mine?

From Cali to Kiwis,

We do it big in the New Zee

The Kanye Video Controversy

Kanye West has had a lot of social faux pas during his run as hip-hops best rapper/producer, but his new Hype Williams video is causing a reaction that has to surprise even Kanye West himself. The video for “All of the Lights,” which stems from a single of his wildly successful album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” is allegedly causing epileptic seizures in people and it has caused a significant public outcry.

The UK organization Epilepsy Action has taken action against the seizure inducing video. They have contacted not only West’s agent, but also other media outlets such as Youtube as well as other sites that have been carrying their video. Their objective is to take the video off the site or suffer possible legal action.

The team for West and the distribution company that put out the video pulled it amid the complaints in order to deal with it before putting it back out into circulation. The video itself is said to be a tribute of “Enter The Void” as the video features flashing lights throughout the video.

The reported cases of epileptic reactions are not uncommon on videos and video games, but this video has created such a strong reaction that people are taking serious. Epilepsy is a serious condition that affects over three million people in the United States alone.

Considering that the video had received over five million views the reps for Kanye West had to take action. These days the video is met with a disclaimer that reads “WARNING: This video has been identified by Epilepsy Action to potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.”

With all the public relations issues that West has had over the last few years it’s important that he was smart about addressing the issues of the video. It’s not that the video itself is considered a mistake, but not handling it would have been.
Before viewing the video below – Please heed the warning and be aware that it could cause a seizure.

Eminem & Rihanna: Love The Way You Lie [Music Video]

Eminem & Rihanna – Love The Way You Lie

Playing this video a few minutes ago was the first time I've heard this song! Which is funny cause I've listened to more new music in the last few months than I ever used to when really wrapped up in ProHipHop. Take this as a reminder that when you're sick of the mainstream, it's incredibly easy to opt out. You just do it and then you don't have to complain any more about bullsh*t music.

Given their personal issues, this is a pretty trippy project for these two. A sign of maturity? Let's hope so.

Plus, the current preroll ad is a great reminder that Windows is for losers, not for lovers!

H*Wood: Could It Be You (Punk Rock Chick) [Music Video]

H*Wood – Could It Be You (Punk Rock Chick)

There's absolutely nothing punk rock about the women in this video or the women described in the lyrics. And many would say there's nothing hip hop about this either. I don't care. I just like bright colors and candy and no guns but lots of pretty girls and no more stupid macho bullsh*t. Know what I mean?

Plus, I've been developing what is, for me, a somewhat odd desire to move to Hollywood. But that ain't happening this year!
